Do you shampoo?

Absolutely! Shampoo services are crucial for cleansing the hair and scalp, removing product buildup and dandruff. I provide a high-quality shampoo service that is not only invigorating but also provides a fresh, clean base for achieving the best results.

Will I save money by shampooing at home before my appointment?

While it may seem like a good idea to shampoo your hair at home before your appointment in order to save time and money, I find that most clients still need to be shampooed because of product residue. Also, I cannot guarantee the results of your hairstyle if you do this. If you insist on shampooing at home, please call ahead to discuss. A signed waiver will be required.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

A deposit is required to protect the business from lost revenue due to no-shows or last-minute cancellations. It also ensures that your appointment slot is available to you so you don't have to wait hours due to overbooking. The deposit amount is 20% of the total hair and beauty service cost, and it will be applied to your final bill on the day of your appointment. If you notify your stylist at least 2 hours in advance that you can't make it, you will get your deposit back.

What if I feel sick the day of my appointment?

If you are feeling unwell with a potentially contagious infection, please do not come in for your appointment. We will not be able to provide service. Please call to reschedule and avoid cancellation fees.

What if I have to cancel my appointment last minute due to an emergency?

I understand that emergencies happen and I may be able to work with you. In the event of an emergency, please notify me as soon as you can. I may be able to waive any cancellation fee if you call within 24 hours of your appointment time.

Do I need to buy braiding hair?

Braiding hair options are limited in availability. Kanekalon braiding hair is provided in natural colors only. Some fun color options are available upon request. If you desire additional options, please contact me 48-72 hours before your appointment.

Do you supply bundles?

Hair for Sew In, Quick weave and such are not provided; Clients must bring your own washed bundles. Recommendations for hair companies include Indique, Perfect Locks, The Belle of Hair, DHair Boutique, Yummy Hair, Velvet Remy, Black Diamond, and Bohyme. Further guidance available during a phone consultation. please call ahead of your visit.

I want to get my hair done, but I can't afford the hair and the cost of service. Is there a way I can save some money since I am bringing my own hair extentions?

In order to keep prices low, we do not currently do not provide hair at our shop. Clients are responsible for providing their own bundles. with that being said, our prices for Hair extention and Wig making services are currently some of the lowest in the market therefore we can not offer additional saving for these services. Please understand, wig making is a labor-intensive process that requires meticulous attention to detail and extensive experience. You will need to determine for yourself if the investment in this type of service is worthwhile. Some factors to consider are longevity, style, length, and color. You may also wish to consider the experience of the stylist.

Do you wash and color hair bundles?

Yes, I will shampoo and color your bundles. This is a seperate Service. The price for color services is per 4-oz bundle. Hair bundles must be dropped off at least 3-5 days before your appointment, and drop-off days are Thursdays-Saturdays. I will only shampoo and color bundles from select manufacturers as high-quality remy and unprocessed human hair give more predictable results. What is the range of your hair coloring services offer?

Hair by Kim offers a wide array of hair coloring services, including semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent color. Semi-permanent color enhances the natural color of your hair, tones existing color, and blends gray hair. This color lasts up to 12 hair washes. Demi-permanent color enhances shine and eliminates brassiness. It lasts up to 12 hair shampoos. Permanent color lasts up to 8 weeks, penetrates the hair shaft to brighten, darken, or change the tone of your hair, and provides up to 100% gray coverage with significant dimension.

Can my texture handle color?

People of all textures can achieve the desired colors they want. to ensure the health and integrity of your textured strands stay in tip-top shape before, during, and after you color your hair, a consulation is required for all color services. A test strand is usually performed and processing time depends on the results. Several factors, including texture, density and length length directly impact appointment time. It also depends on previous services and starting point of existing hair color and steps taken to get to desired hair color

Does hair color damage natural hair?

Hair color alone does not damage hair; however, improper use of hair color can damage natural hair. A thorough analysis of the natural hair is required to determine the achievable results. Hair color also requires extensive maintenance, and one must be dedicated to preserving the health and integrity of the hair strands after achieving the desired hair color.

What are fashion colors?

Fashion colors, including shades like pinks, purples, blues, greens, and pastels. They are vivid hues not typically occurring naturally in your hair. These colors are as bright and vibrant as the colors of the rainbow and require a white blonde base for optimal results. If your hair is dark brown or brunette, a lightening treatment will be essential to achieve these striking and eye-catching shades.

Do you provide hair styling service for children?

Yes, However children under 10 are considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on their comfort level. Parents, please note to children who are not able to sit or show signs of distress will have to be reschedule. Please call for consultation.

Can I sit with my child while they are being serviced?

Parents and caregivers are not allowed in the service area while children are receiving service. Please wait in the waiting area.

I don’t have childcare, can I bring my children?

To maintain a relaxing environment, clients are advised to make arrangements for childcare prior to your appointment.

Why can’t I bring my children to the salon?

Not only do we strive to create a relaxing enviorment for all of our guest, we also care about the safety of our little ones and since children can not be properly supervised while you are recieving a service it is highly advised that you arrange apporiate childcare for the day of your appointment.

Can I bring my fur babies to the Salon?

No. While I LOVE our four legged friends! This is not a sentiment shared by everyone and some people are in fact allergic. So for the health and safety of all, no pets are allowed in the salon. The only animals that maybe considered are services animal, please call ahead of scheduling your appointment.

Can I bring a spouse or friend to wait for me while I receive services?

No. To have enough seating available in the waiting area for all the clients, we encourage you not to bring extra guest.
